I know I've missed like two weeks of reviews, but I've been terribly busy with other projects. I will get back to those Sunday hopefully. ^_^

Now we're back here at Sunday, ready to do it all over again? This week has been a good one, relatively. The news has been scandalous too, no doubts there.

Monday February 20
The week started with the cultural editor from the Jyllands-Posten newspaper publishing an article explaining why he thought publishing the inflammatory Mohammed cartoons was a bright idea. I think his intentions would have been better served by an article. Images that can be interpreted in various ways do not clearly speak ones intentions. Which is why the violent protests (which I'm sure you know I was against) got out of hand: various interpretations from various locus of controls. So, bravo Mr. Editor, you did not get your message across in the best way. Richard Cohen had a willfully ignorant article about how Algebra ruins kids lives. I couldn't agree with him less. Jon Stewart is gearing up for the Oscars, I'm excited that he is hosting. Stewart is my favorite public intellectual! Someone I have known since elementary school wired a house my dad is building on Monday!
Tuesday February 21
Congress started their vocal opposition to the Dubai Ports World deal on Thursday. I think their anti-Arab xenophobia has resulted in paranoid dilusions, which has been fueled by the press who think it's a damn good story to sensationalize. Bird flu has spread to many countries, more and more people are concerned about this. VeriSign wants to take complete control of the .com domain name registry, which could result in them having monopolistic control over the .com domain market. Write your representatives. I figured out how to claim my Myspace blog on Technorati Tuesday and provided instructions to help others.
Wednesday February 22
India is saying they do not need or welcome any outside assistance or inspection of their nuclear program. Bush is pushing them to clearly seperate their civilian and military nuclear programs before congress can approve aid for their nuclear energy program. There are valid concerns that if not seperated India could use assistance intended for civilian aid to bolster their arsenal and use it against neighboring Pakistan, a close US ally. A very good article has been published by Dick Meyers of CBS news in defense of the Dubai Ports World deal. It debunks many of the myths and misinformation being thrown about, which is causing much of the hysteria. It's a very good read, I hope you'll take the time to look it over before rushing to form an opinion about this deal. Berlin's Love Parade will be back this year, after a financial crisis caused them to be unable to have the giant rave fest the past two years. Fun times!! Wednesday was a pretty day and I talked the weather, sleeping in, and starting my new Garfield inspired blog on Michelle Mashraqi's blog. I took a few photos of my first knitting project but found my laptop won't recognize my Lexar USB 2.0 Multi-Card reader. No fun!
Thursday February 23
Justin Raimondo published another very good article debunking much of the spin about the UAE DPW deal at AntiWar.com called Hating Arabs. Again, like Meyers' article, please give it a read. There is so much untruth behind the arguments of the opposers, it boggles the mind. There is a new top secret Microsoft project in the works called Origami. See a flash movie at OrigamiProject.com. Friday February 24
I found a doubleplusgood blog which is published entirely in Newspeak. A must see. Also I feel quite bad for the girl unwillingly involved in the sex scandal of the week, Tammy Nyp. It has to be illegal for someone to steal your phone and publish the private sex videos you took of youself on the Internet without your consent, right? I found some really cute animal sculptures from KittyCritters.com on Friday. We went to Kabob Korner in Anderson to eat on Friday, and when we called to pre-order our food the guy knew exactly what we wanted to order. We have reputations. My younger sister went to the ER Friday night, thinking she might have appendicitis. She has a kidney stone. My sodium enriched meals made my head hurt.
Saturday February 25
Seeing all the traffic that I got from the, shall we say pervs looking for Tammy Nyp videos, I decided to play with them a bit on Saturday. What did I do? Just said this: Want the videos, click here. >=D I organized with my mom on Saturday, it was a rainy and cold day.

More Tammy Nyp discourse today, with commentary on some of the bloggers who are also blogging about Tammy Nyp, like one drama prince who thinks Tammy Nyp wants to be Singapore's Paris Hilton. Hardly seems the case here. In sad news, Don Knotts has died.

Week in Review Feb 13 - 19

Now to my week in review for the week of Februray 13th to the 19th. I think I wrote a lot in this past week, let's see if that rings true. I am thinking about starting a new current events blog. I write a lot on Faeriebell's Blog and don't see that much traffic for it. I am wondering if my site is penalized in Google. Any name suggestions? I am having trouble coming up with a catchy name for my news blog.

Monday Februrary 13
Saturday's quail hunting excursion ended badly for Dick Cheney, who shot his lawyer friend in the face, chest, and neck with bird shot. He of course has been cleared of all charges. Neil Entwistle and his now deceased wife kept a blog with tons of photos of their trips together, and their beautiful baby girl Lillian. Neil is of course being held for their murders. An ABC meme caught my fancy, as did a movie 'whore' meme.

Tuesday Februrary 14
Jim Zogby has a very positive and accurate article about the Mohammed cartoon controversy posted on the Huffington Post. I changed the comment settings on Faeriebell's Blog, now anyone can comment, in hopes of getting more comment discussions going. A victim of Attachment Therapy and years of neglect and abuse was able to confront the woman who abused him. Neil Entwistle's computer offerd some intruguing clues about the case and his personality, like he had searched for how to kill people days before his wife and child were shot. Shannen Doherty got into a car crash. My day in detail. Found another get to know you meme. Started my own Johari Window, which only DecemberFlower has posted in. Oh yeah, Happy Valentines Day!

Wednesday Februrary 15
The Winter Olympics in Torino Italy are being televised around the globe. 10,000 journalists are there. The best brrreeeport ever hit the blogosphere, adding to the thousands already partaking in this Internet experiment. Vice President Dick Cheney finally gave an interview about the hunting accident, after Washington journalists screeched like banshees, not about Cheney shooting someone, but about not giving an interview to talk it. Google has some sneaky intentions when it comes to your privacy. Protect yourself and learn about what Google might be up to. I went to my grandmothers to eat dinner after a delicious Chinese lunch.

Thursday Februrary 16
There are 325,000 names on the terrorist watch list. How many are innocent, how many are credible threats? They won't tell us and probably don't know themselves. Greenie dog treats are killing dogs after getting lodged in the dogs esophagus or intestine. A German Muslim group issued a challenge to the Iranian president: Come to Aushwitz and dare deny the Halocaust. In lighter news, I found the cutest Amy Brown fairy figurines at this online shop. The fairies are precious! I got a headache Thursday night.

Friday Februrary 17
The White House lobbied to stop the Senate Intelligence Committee from probing the controversal (and illegal, some would say) domestic spying program. Cops in Spotsylvania think it's required to actually receive sex acts to prove prostitution is being practiced, while anyone that has watched COPS knows they just have to be offered to make an arrest. Horny police. MySpace announced that they will offer a cell phone service that will allow free posting to the site. MySpace is owned by Rupert Murdoch. More than 1,500 people are missing and feared dead in the Philippines after a mudslide. Italian courts decided that sexual abuse is less of a crime if the woman abused is not a virgin. Olympics ratings are down and NBC is trying to figure out why. I woke up Friday with my headache still present, and still on my mind. My sister came home from college for the weekend, and we had fun. I posted a photo from the Crystal Ball.

Saturday Februrary 18
The White House was successful in their attempt to block the Senate from the NSA spying program probe. The system fails. Is Bush's plan to restart the nuclear reprocessing program the right message to send when we're about to invade Iran because of it?

Sunday Februrary 19
The opposition to a Dubai firm taking control of American ports is frankly discriminatory and some of the discourse being thrown around is libelous. Anti-Arab sentiments in the US are being shouted from both sides of the aisle, and they make me sick. Travis Frey's sick marriage contract is making its way around the blogosphere, revealing him to be a sick puppie.

Another week has passed us by. Amazing how time goes so quickly these days. Maybe it's always been that way, but it just seems like we're busier than ever.

So much has been in the news this week, from continued protests about the racist cartoon depictions of the Prophet Mohammed, to the Vice President shooting a fellow hunter in the face in a hunting accident.

My next post will be my weekly rundown on things I've written about. But first I want to link to some of the most popular stories on Technorati right now.

Blogging Chronicle for Feb 6th to Feb 12th

Well another week has passed. It is time for my weekly blog chronic(what?)le. It was a good week but I have procrastinated writing a letter for the Friends of the Library association which will be sent to the state representatives, which is bad. I should not put off things that are important. The state's budget for libraries has dropped to a pitiful $0.35 per person, which includes new books, magazines, cds, dvds, and more. It's simply not enough and I need to write that letter tonight because the meeting is tomorrow. Yikes.

Anyhow, my week was productive. Let's see just how much I wrote.

Monday Feb. 6th
Monday started with Isabelle Denoire, the woman who received the world's first face transplant, revealing herself for the first time at a press conference. Super Bowl XL (40) was Sunday night, which I of course watched, and I posted a large Super Bowl rundown on Faeriebell's Favorites.

Tuesday Feb 7th
Tuesday on Faeriebell's Blog I wrote about the string of church fires in Alabama and how the FBI was looking into the possiblity that they were civil rights violations. They are of course being investigated as arsons, 9 churches just don't catch fire in the same week. The I posted about Coretta Scott King's massive funeral in Lithonia Georgia. Being from Georgia, it was very nice to see all the presidents, politicians, and celebrities gather to pay respect for such a good lady. My last post for the day on Faeriebell's Blog was about a very interesting article that points out that the cartoons depicting Mohammed aren't just disrespectful, they are racist. The article made some very honest points that I feel need addressing if we are a civilized people who agree racism is wrong.

Wednesday Feb 8th
I got a migrane Tuesday night and missed my favorite TV show, House MD. This prompted me to write a blog post about this Wednesday morning on my Myspace blog. A Canadian was arrested on charges that he worked with Al Qaida and acquired weapons for them. My cat, Garfield, got out of the house Wednesday afternoon, which really flipped me out. She's ok though, found her under the house next door (after we'd run all over the neighborhood looking for her)! I wrote a long post about eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia on Faeriebell Live.

Thursday Feb 9th
India opening a huge $3 billion dollar hardware facility in Hyderabad got me up in arms Thursday. India poses a huge threat to the US economy and still upholds the most archaic form of human rights violations known to man: the caste system. Why don't countries tell them they need to fix their human rights issues before doing business with them? Why are greedy nations willing to overlook such debasement? Hostage Jill Carroll made a new plea to the US, and I expressed my anger over the cowards that hold her hostage. I hope she is released without harm. Thursday evening I posted more commentary about racism and the rampant racism agains Muslims (Islamophobia) that is accepted good or even patriotic to many in the world these days. On Faeriebell's Favorites I posted a small post about a celebrity photo and gossip site I wasted a few hours on Wednesday. I then expressed my desire to learn to knit. On MySpace, I found that She-Ra and her whole Etheria crew have MySpace profiles! How funny is that?!

Friday Feb 10th
Friday surprisingly enough, I didn't post any! I went to Greenville and I am not sure what I did after I got back, but I just wasn't in the mood to write I suppose. Anyhow, I did write on Saturday.

Saturday Feb 11
I was shocked to hear that Netflix throttles back thier frequent renters accounts, basically punishing them for renting from them frequently. I find that practise to be very unfair and am not continuing my subscription with them, even though I didn't rent from them very often, making me an "ideal" Netflix customer. I had a Habitat for Humanity charity ball to attend on Saturday night, and wrote two posts about The Crystal Ball.

Sunday Feb 12
I started the day with an article about how those who are blaming Islam for the protests are not doing anything to explain why the protests are occuring, as there are cultural and political issues at play that better explain the tension. There were large peaceful protests on Saturday across Europe that denounced both the racist cartoons but also the violent response to them. Moderate voices are there, and they need publicising. One commentor on my blog stated that the Post had buried the story, while I'm sure there were front page images of the radical protests. This is how the uneducated find the means to further justify their racism. MSM needs to do a better job. I also posted another post about the Crystal Ball on my Myspace blog. Now I post this post, and my week is finished.

Another week down, I hope for more inspiration and news to come about in the week to come.

Saturday plans!!

My free trial is almost over. Don't worry though, I'll still keep this blog going. I like that I can use it to catalog my writing, since I have so many blogs it's hard to keep track of exactly how much I write in a week.

I have a ball to go to tonight, I'm excited. I have a very nice outfit to wear and I'm excited, it's ben a long time since I dressed up. I have a black skirt, kind of bell shaped, with some light embriodery on it, and sparse black sqequins. The shirt I am wearing has diagonal stipes with alternating black sequins and plain black stripes. I have black heels with a cute little rhinstone clip on them, to make them pop. I plan to curl my hair and even wear contacts. I look forward to it!! I'll try and take a photo!!

The ball, The Crystal Ball, is a charity fundraiser for the local Habitat for Humanity, and it should be loads of fun. My dad is the president of the local chapter, so it's cool. They have built two houses and have enough money to build the next one, but can't find any land! Dx .. I really hope they find some soon, they are raising money but can't start on the project until they find a place to build on.

It's not like this is not a rural location, there is land everywhere. But they have to find some pretty cheap land, the past two houses have been built on donated land.

Anyways, that is my rundown for this evening.

This week, like I said earlier, was long. I think I probably posted more last week but this week was a drain.

Monday
The week started out slowly. Faeriebell's Blog started Monday with a post about a new scientific report that warns that global warming could be irreversible if humans tip it past a certain point. Drastic climate change could not be stopped. On a more humorous note, I posted a story on Faeriebell's Favorites about a man who fell and busted three priceless Qing dynasty vases in a museum in England. The museum will try and put Humpty Dumpty together again.

Tuesday
Tuesday started with the sad post about Coretta Scott King's death in a Mexico hospice. I am from Atlanta and her passing is poignant to me. I then posted about how Muslim groups had accepted a Danish newspaper's apology about the Mohamemd cartoons (not knowing how the week would progress). Samuel Alito's swearing in as a Supreme Court Justice rounded out the day on Faeriebell's Blog. I posted two very rambly posts on my Myspace and Michelle Mashraqi's blog about my day and how unfocused I felt. I did get 1099's out that day. On Faeriebell Live, I posted a 4 things about me meme.

Wednesday
Wednesday was the first of the month, so I made my monthly (at least I try and post it monthly) Pinch Punch, first of the Month post. If you have no idea what that is, please see my October Pinch Punch post that explains the rules. I then posted my somewhat bitter review of the President's State of the Union address the night before. A comment by Lawrence from the WhatIsLiberalism.com blog brought my attention to the new petition that has been set up on behalf of Cory Maye. His case is a travesty of justice, I would be so happy if you signed it. February 1st was also the anniversary of the Columbia shuttle disaster, which I finished my day posting about.

Thursday
February 2nd started with a post written in about 10 minutes about how the Muhammed cartoons were wrong and why Muslims are offended by it. I also posted many, many comments in response to other comments. My post got mentioned on Slate.com, which sent over some pretty ruthless commentors who simply did not want to discuss, they wanted to say what they wanted to say, end of story. The whole debate, or wall/head banging, was worthless and everyone was left feeling bitter. No matter what people like me say, on our blogs, to people we neet, or whatever, there are those who simply will not believe that it is not Islam teaching people to be terrorists, but the weak minds of criminals who are using Islam's name in a most grevious way. Anyways, I digress. After I got back from my trip to Greenville, SC, I posted how appalled I was that drug smugglers were found to be using puppies to smuggle heroin into the country. Faeriebell Live was host to my rant when Blogger was down for a few minutes. On a much lighter note, I posted a monster meme on Faeriebell Live later that night. I had a headache later that evening and posted about it on my MySpace blog.

Friday
Ahh, Friday. I posted first about Washington officials agreeing that the Muslim cartoons were offensive and meant to inflame Muslims around the world. They said while free press is a freedom, with that freedom comes the responsibility to respect and tolerate other religions. I posted a link to my Muslim cartoon post on my Myspace blog, along with some snarky commentary. Sort of tired of the debate, and after commenting a ton more on Thursday's post, I posted a silly walk meme on Faeriebell Live, which is, you may have noticed, my most mundane blog.

Saturday
Saturday I took it easy. It's the weekend, I'm allowed. I was very disappointed to hear that the outrage Muslims are feeling had crossed the line into violence as the Danish embassy was burned. Equally depressing, the reports came in that the Red Sea ferry disaster was caused by a fire below deck. I then posted that Coretta Scott King's body is to lie in state at the Georgia Capital building until Monday, marking a great difference in the honor she recieves compared to her husband's death, when the Georgia governor denied even flags being flown at half staff. I posted some dumb memes at Faeriebell Live, mainly what is your hidden talent?, and Phobia Knowledge. I also posted about how MySpace misuses the term "blog" when they say "Post New Blog". What they mean is "New Blog Post". Silliness.

Sunday
Sunday was my really lax day. I'm sorry but I have to take a day off. I downloaded a bunch of icons for my random sig on GaiaOnline, so to give credit where credit's due I posted to Faeriebell Live. I also posted some comments on Faeriebell's Blog, but I'm really tired of talking about the Mohammed cartoons, knowing that no one's mind is going to be changed. I also posted this week in review post on my Xanga. ^_^

That's my week. It was a productive but unproductive week. I feel unaccomplished just because I wasn't able to dissuade anyone from their ignorance, but I believe that God shows the path to those he chooses, so I can't be disappointed because God doesn't choose to show those commentors the truth.

Bitterness Following this Week

Another week gone, it's been quite a week, full of angry comments on my blogs from people, some who failed to read both my initial post and the followup comments. Sometimes people just aren't willing to debate, rather they just want to pontificate.

Anyways, if I seem bitter I am; seemingly rational people choose to stereotype and blindly hate. It's just beyond me how people could equate Islam, the actual teachings of Islam, to violence and terrorism. There is a vast difference between one Muslim* who goes and commits a violent crime and equating the whole religion to said violence. It makes my head spin to think how educated people who understand that fundamentalist Christians who bomb abortion clinics are the exception and not the rule, and certainly not following what Christianity teaches, can say that because Muslims* are committing acts of terrorism it must be the religion that condones these acts and therefore all Muslims must be like that or agree with these actions.

I agree there are people out there spreading the wrong message. But Islam's message is wholly in the Quran, not in the teachings of others. Some will say, that is what is being taught the world over, that is what Islam is. Wrong. Those who say that suicide bombings are honorable are not teaching Islam. They will be questioned on the Day of Judgement.

I was questioned repeatedly this week why there were no moderates condemning the threats of violence and actual violence going on this week. At the same time as I was being questioned, I was condemning the violence. That is why this week left me bitter; as my words on the screen in front of me were condemning the extremists, I was being asked why I wasn't condemning the extremists. It's enough to put me off writing for the weekend.

Ok, enough of a rant. I'll go on. My next post will be a rundown of all my blog posts this past week

* These types of people may think they are good Muslims, but I don't think they are. I am hesitant to say they are Muslims because then people stereotype all Muslims into this group. Islam teaches that they kill all humanity when they kill one soul, and Muslims that do these things are not following Islam at all.

Lets see, I could post about my blogging activities this week, I've been pretty busy.

Monday
Monday on Faeriebell's Blog I posted about Ford's plans to cut 30,000 jobs and idle a number of factories. I also posted about a possible lag in Technorati search results, especially in the popular news section of their site. More on Monday I wrote about President Bush saying that the NSA spying program was both legal and necessary. And to round out Monday, the Canadian Election attracted my attention.
Monday on Faeriebell's Favorites I was moved to write about NBC's plans for West Wing to be cancelled. On Michelle Mashraqi I wrote about finding my old high school friends from Meadowcreek. And finally on my MySpace blog, I asked readers some questions about the SEO of MySpace blogs

Tuesday
Tuesday on Faeriebell's Blog I wrote about the historical discovery of a statue of Queen Ti, King Tut's grandmother in Egypt. On Faeriebell's Favorites Disney's acquisistion of Pixar was featured. On Search Scandals, I wrote an article about Yahoo giving up its fight with Google to be the number one search engine. Tuesday also marked my first post here, on Faeriebell's Xanga. Just an introductory post, but it was my first. On Michelle Mashraqi I wrote about some ongoing computer problems that I've been having.

Wednesday
Wednesday I was sad to write about the crash involving a tractor trailer, a car, and school bus that killed all 7 children in the car on Faeriebell's Blog. I also wrote about breaking news out of California, where a man had taken an number of hostages in a Bank of America after a failed robbery attempt. On Faeriebell's Favorites I reported that Chris Penn's cause of death is still unknown. Faeriebell's Live was host to my gripe about Blogger being down for maintenance. I also alluded to an article about the Du Bist Deutschland campaign that I have been unable to finish due to my computer being inaccessible until I get a new CPU fan. The biggest story of the day was Google capitulating the Chinese government and agreeing to censor search results on their Chinese search engine on Search Scandals. I also posted a gripy post on MySpace Layouts asking if anyone was reading my blog. On Faeriebell's Xanga (here), I wrote about playing around with my template, and how I make blogspot templates and myspace layouts for my other blogs. After investigating, I wrote a rant about how sites like Reunion.com and Classmates.con should not resrict your access to their sites, trying to upsell you everything.

Thursday
Thursday started with a relieved post about the peaceful resolution of the California hostage situation. Then my relief vanished as I reported that Fatah has been defeated in the Palestinian elections by militant group Hamas. I participated in the meme Thursday Thirteen on Faeriebell Live. I dished a little gossip over on Search Scandals and speculated whether Yahoo! is looking to acquire Digg. Then I wrote a small 'how to' post about using Technorati to gain traffic, ping your blog, and tagging.

Friday
On Friday, I started my day by posting that Chevron has reported record high 4th quarter profits on Faeriebell's Blog. I then posted a longer how to article about blogging secrets.
After that I asked if my readers had ever read 1984. Finally I ended the blog posts on Faeriebell's Blog by speculating why Homeland Security was spying on vegetarians in Atlanta. On Faeriebell's Favorites I reported about James Frey being called out on Oprah's show after her fans turned on her dismissive attitude towards his false memoir. Search Scandals was host to my scathing review of Sergey Brins justifications for censoring searches for the Chinese government.

Saturday
On Saturday, I took things a little easy. I wrote about the 57 year old man in Japan who claimed to have attracted 11 women to live with him by chanting a spell. Police, disregarding the magic angle, rather suspect it was the tear gas and stun gun that kept the women in his clutches. I then posted my memoirs of the 1986 Challenger accident. I then popped over to Xanga and posted about getting a free Premium Xanga trial, and then this huge review of my work this week.

That's all she wrote, quite literally.

Free Premium Trial

So I got a free trial to Premium Xanga! Is that standard, or did someone give it to me? Well at any rate I like free trials, so thanks! I made my blog look all pretty. Unfortunately I won't be keeping the premium features once my free trial is over, but I do like the freeness. ^_^

If I paid for every blog I maintain, well then my bill would be too high for me to break even. That's why I like free blogging services. Goodness at one point I was maintaining hundreds of blogs on my own server. If I had paid even just $4 for each of them, well I'd be out more than the whole $99 server!!

Anyways, I'm getting off track. I have to find a voice for this blog. I like every blog of mine to have a different feel. I definitely want this blog to be more personal than some of my other blogs. But I don't want it to be so personal that only I want to read it. That's just not the kind of blogger I am. But I'm not sure where I want to go with this one yet.
